There is a post on We make money not art about how a group of scientist at the Universities of Glasgow, Endinburgh, and others have been awarded funds to start developing tiny microsensors capable of networking. Sounds kinda cool, can’t wait until your next PC upgrade come in a spray can!
Stargate gets new season
•October 25, 2005 • Leave a CommentGateworld has an article saying that SciFi Channel has ordered 20 new episodes of Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. The network is also expected to renew Battlestar Galactica, which current sits as the networks highest rated show. This is great news for the Stargate SG1 series since the new season will make it the longest running science fiction TV series in U.S. history. I’ve been a fan of the series for a while and I’m looking forward to see how the new cast changes made this season begin to mature next season.

Only In Florida
•October 24, 2005 • Leave a CommentWell the big bad hurricane has past and we’re all still in one piece so all seems good. Apparently a large cold front pushed Wilma out of the area in a hurry, so now its bright and sunny. I’ve had a quick look around and a side from a few branches here an there and good amount of water, there is little to no damage. So looks like life will be back to normal by tommorow.
Hurricane Wilma
•October 24, 2005 • Leave a CommentOkay so due to Hurrican Wilma, I’ve got no classes or work today, but in short I have to stay inside for most of the day, just to let you know as I write this we’re only seeing topical storm force winds (~40 mph). So basicallly this just seems like a bad thunderstorm, minus the thunder, but if you’ve gone through as many hurricane’s as I have your main concern is hoping that no tornado’s get spawned due to this thing. All in all, I still have power and really haven’t noticed any damage so it looks like we might get out okay today. So I’ll put up another post after the storm passes and after I’ve had a look around the area.

Evangelion on Adult Swim
•October 23, 2005 • Leave a CommentFor those of you who know what Evangelion is it premiered last night on Adult Swim, so you know the rest of viewers out there will be in for a really weird treat. As for the rest you who’ve never heard of the old anime series, be prepared to be very confused and weirded out with a strange urge to keep watching. Just fair warning this was the first anime series I ever watched and needless to say it was a strange introduction to anime. Check Adult Swim’s : Neon Genesis Evangelion for a show time schedule.

Doom Movie
•October 22, 2005 • Leave a Comment
Just saw the Doom movie and I’ve got to say that it’s not as bad as I thought it would be; the movie actually passes as a decent action movie. Now I’m not saying that this is the greatest game to movie release, but movie is not that bad by action movie standards. Basically it means that yes there are cheesy lines and some poor acting, but there are lots of guns, special effects, and a grand fight scene. Just a warning that there is a lot of gore in this movie but it definitly feels like the game we all know and love. So by no means is this a great movie but if your into action flicks or a fan of the Doom game series then its worth checking out, for anyone else all bets are off.
Project Looking Glass
•October 21, 2005 • Leave a CommentProject looking glass is a Java based desktop system that sports an interesting 3D user interface. This is one of Sun’s little attempts to enter the desktop market. I’ve been playing around with this interface for a while, and I’ve got to say that this may become a viable desktop alternative. For those of you who don’t want to go through the process of installing/setting all of this 3D spiffiness up there is a live CD that can be found here
